The photos I promised

Homecoming 2012
Junior Year

 Yeah...he proposed to me ;)

As I said before, homecoming was magical. Obviously Ben is a stud and I had the BEST group anyone could ask for. The whole day was just amazing. And the dance? A grand staircase entrance, illuminated by the stars, and the moon, and thousands of Christmas lights that were wrapped around trees. Literally, it felt as if we had walked into a movie. So yeah, it was great, a night I always hope to remember. And now, I get to look forward to all the other great things that happen in high school, and life, and I'm excited.

Dancing in the moonlight

Adventures are good, sometimes the best adventures occur when you become lost.
When some people get lost they suddenly become filled with anxiety, don't know what to do, and panic...which I do that too, to some extent, but I also become so excited, wondering where this unknown path will take us. Sometimes, when you're lucky, this path simply leads you into a meadow, hidden in the trees, with the sunlight filtering through the multicolored fall leaf canopy, and sometimes that little safe haven is better than any place you had originally planned.

 Later that day...

I felt like a princess. It took a solid two hours, but thanks to my incredible mother, I was able to look in the mirror and think to myself, "I am beautiful", which is a thought that rarely passes through my head.
It was a blast. I was with some of the best people in the world, and I wouldn't have changed anything about this last night. Everything was PERFECT.

just pretend this photo is super great... (even though it's not)

Love this girl like a sister :)

Learning to Dance in the Rain

Life's still not perfect, the storm's not quite over, but rather, I've learned to dance in the rain
Litterally.
Out in the dark of night, huge rain drops poured, and we danced. Running around, screaming, laughing, jumping in puddles. We splashed each other, us as friends. And as the water dripped down my face I realized that I was happy. Standing there in the freezing cold rain, I was happy.

Memories of Christmas

I love those moments of reliving a precious memory,
it can be relived by telling it to another...detail by detail,
sometimes you just replay it over and over in your mind,
or its relived in your sweet dreams as you close your eyes,
looking at pictures,
holding a small item,
smelling that familiar fragrance,
they all bring back those memories.
The memories of Christmas

Today it was walking with my daddy  through those stores among Christmas crazed crowds...
going to the stores that we always have, for as long as I can remember.
Talking and walking beside my dad remembering all of our adventures in years previous
and living through some new adventures
and finally realizing...it's Christmas well almost

Today it was wrapping presents with my little brother, with him so very eager to help...
watching the joy it brings him to place another little present under the tree.
listening to Christmas songs
and singing along
and finally realizing...this is what Christmas is about

enjoy the little things, for one day you'll look back and realize they were the big things.

ThatHolidaySeason

I'm not sure what makes it so magical...
the smells of scrumptious food, along with family and friends,
the smiles and laughter, and homes filled with joy,
there's so much more giving and in return a little getting,
outside the snow lightly falling is just so beautiful,
and inside the warmth and hot chocolate is so very comforting,
people in general just seem so much more happy,
and who can't love the Christmas music that is simply played everywhere,
lights, decorations, singing and smiling, cooking, the gatherings,
they all create memories.

Thanks to a wonderful Thanksgiving, new memories have been created... dinner was at my house, it was very crowded but delicious. It's so fun having family come together and just enjoy one an other's company. we played basketball, played the piano, played a game of Life, watched a movie, played together, and just enjoyed our night :) now exactly one month until Christmas! It's most definitely the most wonderful time of the year.

[Im]perfect

Its that feeling of inadequacy,
thinking you're not enough,
comparing yourself to others
only to wish you were more like them,
wishing for her clothes, her talents, her beauty, her man, her hair, her smarts, her personality, her life
but why become more like her when you can be you...
It took me some Sunday school lessons, along with a temple trip, and reading a friends words to realize that.

here would be some of those words I mentioned:
You have something she doesn't :)
You have your faith.
You have a light, bright as day, shining right within you.
You have the knowledge that you are not alone.
You have imperfections, which are most beautiful anyway.
You have strengths and talents no one has, maybe even you do not know them.
You are YOU.
Don't ever second guess yourself.
He knows what you are to do.
So go find that out.
And always remember, I love you.

It's so true! In the end it doesn't matter if I became perfect in their eyes, but that I can become perfect through Him... that I have divine qualities and purposes that I'm here on this earth to fulfill, and no one can stop me from reaching that potential.

11-11-11...the only 1

Guess what?
I know I say this all
the time but I will tell you
again, you only get to live today
once...that's right once. 11-11-11
it's the only one, every breathe
is one you can't get back,
every moment of
sad-
ness
is
one
mo-
ment
of
happ-
iness
you'll
ne-
ver
live.
so
make
to-
day
a
good
one
Make a Wish and Make it Happen

see what I did there? (just in case you're blonde like me and need some assistance) the words make one of those little wishing weeds, the ones that parents hate but I adore, that blow into the wind and make you feel all happy inside. I like those weeds :)

with love,
the blonde one

What Life's About...

It's not the being famous,
or becoming a billionaire,
It's not necessarily even about being the smartest person in the world,
or inventing something important,
It doesn't matter whether you're the jock or the nerd of the high school,
So what is important?
And so now I guess I'll tell you what I want my life to be about,
and you never know,
you might even agree...

Have you ever had a bad day and someone said something simple to make life a little better? Have you ever done that for someone else? Well I'll tell you this: An old friend of mine randomly (or inspirationally) came across my thoughts the other day...I simply sent her a little simple text expressing my love for her. Little did I know, it made a huge impact on her and made her day. And guess what, knowing that I made her even the slightest bit happier made my day :) You may never know what impact you can have on others...and I think that a smile to that friendless kid, saying "hi" to that person you may not always get along with, and just caring about another and listening to their story...this can make all the difference. And for me, this is what life is about.  Being the best you and helping God's children make it through. So when you're feeling down find a way to make an other's day and I promise, it will make yours too.

It's that time of year

It's when schools starting to feel normal,
when you can lay outside and find shapes in the sky
when the weather is just about perfect,
when star gazing becomes a favorite past time,
when football starts to be a frequent topic of conversation,
when life is busy, but still enjoyable
and...
when it's my mom's birthday

Now my awesome dad decided to plan an awesome birthday for my awesome mom...I just have an awesome family. But i have to say that it was a lot of work. Like cupcake making, who knew it too so much work?!

The batter is most definitely the best part :)
(especially when you eat lots of it)

These would be the cupcakes i made...i have to say they were quite scrumptious so all that hard work paid off, and enjoying the day with my family as we celebrated my mom's birthday was a certain delight. There was a luau and everything! But next time i say we just buy cupcakes ;)

p.s. my dad would now like me to tell you how amazing he is...which he is! i love him so very much and appreciate him planning this birthday for my mom :) my mom definitely deserved it as she works so very hard for me as well.

After a wonderfully long weekend today was time to go back to school, if i didn't have such amazing friends then school would be more torture than it already is. But no matter how stressful school becomes there is always someone to brighten my day...like this crazy girl:

everyone...just accept the fact that we are slightly insane

This week is going to be a long one but hopefully it will still have wonderful adventures in it :)

It's a Fairytale

It's those moments when you want time to slow down,
when you wish you could stay there forever,
when you forget about everything else in life and just breathe...

It's these moments that keep me going in life, that give me a reason to live;
I live for these moments

It's when you're with your best friends laying in the grass late at night starring at the stars having deep conversations. It's so surreal...it's so magical...it's like a fairytale that came to real life.

Then there's this other thing called reality... that at those special moments you get to ignore ...but then at some point you always have to return, stupid reality. But if we didn't have reality we wouldn't realize how magical those moments truely are.
Do we create those "fairytale" moments, or do they just happen? Is it something we have control over, or is it all up to fate?
Well whatever it is, i like it, and i'm grateful for those moments. For it's those moments that become memories that keep me going when it's one of "those days" and i promise that you are part of one of my various special moments that i'll always cherish forever...thanks for being a part of my life :)
