Tears slowly escape my eyes, and I’m not really sure why,
they wet my pillow as I stare at my reflection through the window framing darkness. One single star shines brightly in the sky. In reality, it might be a
plane, a satellite or some other object, but for right now, I need it to be a
star. I believe that even in our darkest nights, there’s always at least one
glimmer of light to remind us that there is someone up there that cares, and
that eventually the morn will come. It’s through our darkest moments we are
able to stop focusing on the world around us and discover who we truly are
inside. I’ve found that I’m a fighter, a
believer, a dreamer; someone that will continue pushing on despite the
circumstances.
Slowly my little star disappears as it is replaced by a
colored array of light. The sunlight warms my face and I realize today is going
to be a great day. After all, I’m on my way to the Happiest Place on
Earth.
