108 Sun Salutations

It probably sounds a little strange if you're not a yogi, it might even sound strange if you are, but it's easily the best way to get over your New Years Eve hangover. (For whatever 'hangover' that is for us Mormons over here.) It comes from an old yogic tradition with something about prayer, renewal and the wholeness of life...108 sun salutations on the New Year's day morn.
breathe in, breathe out, reach up, dive down.
And while I immersed myself in this rhythmic motion, I thought about what I want for this year to come. I have a lot of big decision, life changing decisions. Where to go to college, whether I go on a mission or not, what to study in college and the kind of person I want to be. Lately I've been getting a lot of the "what do you want to be when you grow up?" and I just look them in the eye, give a sly smile and curtly reply, "happy." I usually then receive a perplexed look before they carry on their way, but it's true, in this world we're all striving to be happy, and that's what I will be.

Happy New Year, darlings.
