snow, love, and other things pertaining to my life

It was that time of year that love was supposedly in the air. The clouds hung like dripping wet blankets, the frigid temperature making long walks nearly unbearable. Luckily, the walk to his car wasn't too long. They walked through the snow, gathering snowflakes on the tips of their eyelashes, dusting their hair with white. They talked like old times, is was as if those two years interrupting their friendship hadn't really happened at all. Memories were resurrected, and their friendship came back to life. The only thing they couldn't remember about each other, was why their friendship had ever been severed. But like the snow returning to it's original home, even in a changed state, they were still the same and deep down, somehow they had known that they'd find each other again down this road. Reunited again, they stood in the snow, embraced each other and found warmth against the cold. They said their goodbyes, but this one was more of a "I'll see you in a couple hours" sort of farewell.

People come into our lives for a reason, and while we can't always figure out that reason right away, at least we can enjoy the special little moments each and every day. I'm grateful for the people that make each second of my life as beautiful as they are. Thanks.
